Vivendo em aldeias nas áreas montanhosas da região de Tarom, mantêm costumes antigos e um dialeto próprio transmitido oralmente. Sua identidade cultural está fortemente ligada ao pastoreio, ao cultivo da terra e à vivência das tradições islâmicas locais em um ambiente de isolamento geográfico.
