Who they are

The Central Tati are an indigenous Iranian community inhabiting mountain valleys and villages in northwestern Iran. Closely linked to the historical Tati language family, they preserve unique local dialects, such as Shahrudi, amidst ancient agricultural and pastoral traditions. Their identity is deeply rooted in the communal life of their villages and in a Muslim heritage passed down from generation to generation.
