Os tayten são um pequeno grupo étnico indígena do ramo tai que habita áreas remotas do Laos. Preservam costumes ancestrais e estão profundamente ligados às suas tradições agrícolas e ao ritmo das aldeias rurais. Sua identidade comunitária é marcada pela vida em pequenas vilas e pela veneração a espíritos locais, vivendo sem quase nenhum contato com a mensagem do evangelho.
