Who they are

The Temi, also known as the Sonjo, live in the hills of northern Tanzania, surrounded by vast plains. A community of Bantu heritage in a semiarid landscape, they preserve their distinctive farming practices and traditional irrigation channels. Their identity remains strongly connected to their mother tongue, the stories of their ancestors, and the rhythms of communal life in their villages.
