Who they are
The Tokode, also known as the Tukudede, are an Indigenous people who live mainly along the northern coast and in the mountains of Timor-Leste. They preserve their native language and maintain deep community ties centered on agriculture and the oral traditions of their villages.
Most identify with the Christian faith, although ancestral traditions still strongly influence daily life and family decisions within the community.
