Who they are
The Tshara-Tshao live in Matabeleland, Zimbabwe, and in the Central and Kweneng districts of Botswana. In Botswana, they live mainly at cattle posts and in settlements. Their language is Tshuwau, of the Khoe-Kwadi family. In both countries, most follow their people’s traditional religions, and Christians are a minority. One Christian leader said that when he taught using the Scriptures in Tswana, people talked among themselves, but they listened in silence when he explained in Tshara-Tshao.
