The Tunni are a community within the Somali group inhabiting the southern regions of Somalia, along the Shabelle River and the coastal strip. With a traditionally agropastoral lifestyle, they combine farming with raising livestock and preserve their own language, Tunni, of the Cushitic branch. Their community life is structured around clan ties and shaped by a Muslim religious and cultural identity.
