The Udege are an Indigenous people who inhabit the taiga forests of the Russian Far East, mainly along the tributaries of the Ussuri River. Historically skilled hunters and fishers, they hold a deep respect for the forest and their ancestral customs, while today facing rapid cultural changes and the challenge of keeping their identity alive.
