The Vepsians are an indigenous Finno-Ugric people who inhabit the forests and lakes of northwestern Russia, especially in Karelia and neighboring regions. They preserve a rich heritage connected to nature, woodworking craftsmanship, and their own language. Although most maintain historical ties with Orthodox tradition, many live out a faith detached from daily life and without contact with the living biblical gospel.
