Who they are

The Vidunda live in a remote area of Kilosa District, in the Morogoro Region of Tanzania, and speak Vidunda, a Bantu language. A study of primary school pupils, published in 2007, showed that children were still learning Vidunda at home, but Swahili, the language of instruction, was gradually replacing their mother tongue among young people. Most identify as Christians, but many also follow traditional beliefs; there is also a Muslim minority.
