Who they are
The Xiangcheng are a small Tibetan people from the mountains of western China, in the historical region of Kham. They live in high valleys and isolated villages, closely tied to Tibetan Buddhism and the traditions of the high plateau. They speak a variety of the Qiang language, which reinforces their distinct identity within the greater mosaic of Tibetan peoples.
