People
Who they are
The Yanomami Ninam live in the tropical forests of northern Amazonia, along riverbanks in the region between Brazil and Venezuela. Also known as the Yanam, they maintain a deep connection to the forest, drawing their livelihood from growing cassava, hunting, and fishing. A substantial proportion of their villages profess the Christian faith, living out the gospel as an integral part of community life in the forest.
