Who they are

The Sanumá form one of the subgroups of the Yanomami language family, living in the tropical forests between northern Brazil and southern Venezuela. With extensive knowledge of Amazonian ecosystems, they live in small, scattered villages, where hunting, traditional farming, and community life sustain their distinctive cultural identity.
