Who they are
The Yokuts are an Indigenous people native to California’s San Joaquin Valley and the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Traditionally organized into distinct communities with their own dialects, they are known for their rich basket weaving traditions and deep connection to their ancestral land. Today, they work to preserve their cultural heritage, strengthen their families, and keep their identity alive for future generations.
