People
The Yulu speak Yulu and live in Sudan, South Sudan, the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. According to their tradition, they lived near the Blue Nile and left in the late 1700s because of hostility from the Fur. Later, Arab slave raiders drove them into what is now the Central African Republic. They grow millet and sorghum and keep bees to sell honey. Christians are the majority in the Congo; in South Sudan, traditional religion predominates.
