Who they are
The Uyghurs of Yutian are a community living in the oasis region south of the Tarim Basin, at the foot of the Kunlun Mountains. With a history linked to the ancient trade routes of Central Asia, they preserve the Uyghur language, rural traditions of irrigated agriculture, and a strong community life. Their cultural identity and daily customs are deeply intertwined with traditional Islamic heritage.
