The Zay are an Ethio-Semitic people who inhabit mainly the islands and shores of Lake Ziway, in Ethiopia’s Rift Valley. Traditionally dedicated to fishing and island agriculture, they preserve a unique way of life and their own language, maintaining historical ties to the traditional Christian faith of the region, although with few active evangelical communities.
