Overview

Kosovo has 9 cataloged ethnic groups, of which 6 are considered unreached by the gospel, equivalent to more than 97% of the country's population. Albanians, more than 1.5 million people and more than 90% of the population, are by far the largest group, mostly Muslim and with very little historical contact with the Christian faith. Serbs and Montenegrins, concentrated mainly in the north of the country and linked to the Orthodox Church, are the most reached groups, although many live out their faith only as a family-inherited tradition. Bosniaks, Turks, Gorani (a Muslim people from the mountainous region between Kosovo, Albania, and North Macedonia), and Balkan Egyptians form small minorities with almost no living Christian witness among them. The Roma, on the other hand, have a small but real Christian presence, still far from a gospel known and lived by the whole community.
