South Korea

Unreached people groups

An overview of the country's people groups, focusing on those who still have little or no access to the gospel in their own language and culture.

Overview

Joshua Project counts 30 people groups in South Korea, of which 13 (43.3%) are still considered unreached, most of them made up of foreign worker communities and ethnic minorities from other Asian countries. Together, these groups total around 489,000 people, less than 1% of the total population. The vast majority of South Koreans, more than 95%, already live in contexts considered significantly reached by the gospel, the fruit of the church's strong historical growth in the country.
