Os Akha Phongku são um subgrupo do povo Akha que habita as regiões montanhosas do sudeste asiático, especialmente em vilarejos remotos do Laos. Preservam costumes ancestrais profundos, fortemente ligados à agricultura de subsistência nas encostas e ao respeito pelas tradições dos antepassados. Sua identidade cultural combina práticas budistas com uma visão de mundo animista tradicional, mantendo-os historicamente distantes de qualquer contato significativo com o evangelho.
