Who they are
The Atong live in five villages in the far northwest of Widikum-Menka, in Momo Division in the Northwest Region of Cameroon. They call themselves and their language Etoh, a name outsiders do not recognize. The terrain is mountainous, with little forest cover. Each village has a primary school and one or two churches. Standard English is well understood only by teachers and a few leaders; others rely on Pidgin English.
