Who they are
The Baggara Fertit are a community that unites pastoral Arab roots and local ethnic groups along the border between Sudan and neighboring regions. Their identity reflects a fusion between Sudanese Arab culture and the ancestral customs of the Fertit region. Daily life centers on agriculture, livestock herding, and community life, where the Islamic faith shapes family rhythms, social traditions, and their worldview.
