Most Bassar Ntcham practice subsistence farming, growing yams, corn, sorghum, and cassava. The yam harvest holds great cultural and festive significance within the community. Life revolves around villages structured by family lineages and respect for the decisions of elders. Communal work in the fields and mutual support among neighbors strengthen bonds of everyday solidarity.
Traditional religion retains a strong influence on everyday life. Their worldview emphasizes reverence for ancestors, who are regarded as guardians of family well-being, and rituals devoted to spirits associated with the land and nature. Although some of the population profess Christianity or Islam, many still combine these practices with traditional ceremonies for protection and blessings.

The villages lack basic health services, road infrastructure, and reliable access to clean drinking water during the dry season. Spiritually, the small Christian community needs ongoing discipleship and suitable biblical materials to grow in steadfastness and discernment in the face of social pressures.
