Os batu nias habitam o arquipélago das Ilhas Batu, ao largo da costa oeste de Sumatra, na Indonésia. Intrinsecamente ligados ao povo nias vizinho, eles preservam costumes ancestrais e uma cultura moldada pelo mar e pela agricultura insular.
