People
Who they are
The Bodi live in the lower Omo River valley in southwestern Ethiopia. They speak a variety of Me’en and combine cattle herding with farming. The Gibe III dam on the Omo River put an end to farming that depended on the river’s seasonal floods. Most follow traditional religions, while a small minority identify as Christian.
