Who they are
Bulgarian Jews represent a historical community with ancient roots in the Balkans, primarily shaped by Sephardic tradition and harmonious integration into Bulgarian society. Although a large majority emigrated over the course of the past century, those who remain keep their communal and cultural traditions alive in urban centers such as Sofia and Plovdiv, preserving Jewish identity through the Bulgarian language.
