The Buwal are a people living in the mountainous area of Cameroon’s Far North Region, near the Mandara Mountains. With strong ties to the land and ancestral traditions, they engage mainly in family farming on rocky slopes. They preserve the Buwal language in their villages, where communal customs and traditional spiritual practices shape daily life and hold the community together.
