People
Who they are
The Dohor are a Dalit community living in northern India, immersed in the Hindi cultural and linguistic context. Historically marginalized by the traditional caste system, they work in manual labor and agriculture to provide for their families. Devotion to Hindu customs and local deities shapes the life of the group, which does not yet have established Christian communities among them.
