Who they are
The Gayil are an indigenous people of southwestern Ethiopia, belonging to the Omotic language family. Traditionally engaged in agriculture and community life across the region’s mountains and valleys, they preserve ancestral customs and a strong cultural identity. Today, a large portion of the community professes the Christian faith and seeks to strengthen their families and local churches.
