Who they are
The Hamap are a small Indigenous community living on the island of Alor in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province. Part of the cultural mosaic of the Alor and Pantar region, they preserve their own language and a traditional way of life rooted in subsistence farming. Although much of the community identifies as Christian, in-depth biblical discipleship in their mother tongue remains essential to strengthening their faith.
