Who they are
Os Han Tai são um povo do sul de Yunnan, no sudoeste da China, pertencente à família Dai. Seu nome faz referência às terras altas e montanhosas onde vivem, em distinção aos grupos que habitam as planícies fluviais. Ao contrário das aldeias de várzea erguidas sobre palafitas, os Han Tai costumam construir suas casas diretamente sobre o solo. Praticantes do budismo teravada combinado a costumes tradicionais, valorizam profundamente a harmonia comunitária e celebram festas onde a água aspergida simboliza purificação e recomeço.
