Who they are
The Huastec, who call themselves Tenek, are an Indigenous people with Mayan roots who inhabit the Huasteca region of eastern Mexico. Known for preserving their language and farming traditions, they maintain a deep connection to the land and their ancestral rites. Although most profess a traditional Catholic faith blended with local customs, a clear understanding of the gospel is still not widespread among their communities.
