Who they are
The Jibu live in eastern Nigeria, in Taraba and Adamawa states, in the areas of Gashaka, Bali and Toungo. Their two main towns are Serti and Beli, and there are more than a hundred villages, each with its own chief. Most make their living from farming, mainly growing sorghum, as well as corn and bananas, and the whole family helps in the fields. Traditional religions predominate, and a minority are Christians.
