Os kafoa são uma pequena comunidade indígena que habita a ilha de Alor, no leste da Indonésia. Integrantes do rico mosaico cultural das Pequenas Ilhas de Sonda, preservam sua língua ancestral e um modo de vida ligado à terra. Embora grande parte se identifique com o cristianismo, crenças animistas tradicionais ainda exercem forte influência sobre as decisões do cotidiano.
