Who they are
The Karo live on the slopes of the Finisterre Range in Madang Province, Papua New Guinea; some have moved down to the coast. They speak the Karo dialect of Rawa. They live mainly on what they grow in their gardens and sell coffee, coconuts, and cocoa in Madang. They have been Christians for a long time and brought the gospel to the Rawa. In 2001, they received the New Testament in their own language, but reading in it is still uncommon.
