The Kokama are an Indigenous people of the western Amazon, with villages and communities spread across the floodplains and along the major rivers of the Amazon Basin. Historically known as skilled navigators and fishers, they maintain a deep connection to the rhythms of the rivers and the forest. Today they face the challenge of strengthening their ancestral language and keeping their identity alive amid intense external pressures.
