Who they are
The Kono Kwono live in Kaduna State, Nigeria. Farming is their main occupation, and cotton and peanuts are among their cash crops. They speak Kono, also called Koonu. Most identify as Christians, but for many, their faith coexists with traditional religious beliefs. There is also a Muslim minority, and Pentecostal churches are growing in the region.
