Who they are

The Kurudu inhabit the island of the same name and neighboring coastal areas in Cenderawasih Bay, in Papua, Indonesia. A people with maritime and agricultural traditions, they maintain strong ties to their villages and preserve their native language in everyday family life. Although most of the community has historical ties to Christian churches, there is a great need for biblical discipleship that deepens personal faith and transforms the lives of younger generations.
