Who they are
The Kwinti are a Maroon community who live along riverbanks deep in the forests of Suriname. Descended from Africans who won their freedom, they preserve a distinct identity, with their own language and strong community cohesion. Although most have some contact with Christian traditions, in-depth biblical knowledge and transformative discipleship have yet to fully reach their villages.
