Who they are
The Lasalimu are a small Indigenous ethnic group who inhabit the eastern part of Buton Island, in southeastern Sulawesi, Indonesia. With a culture deeply connected to the sea and coastal farming, they maintain their own language and strong communal traditions, living in small villages where kinship ties and everyday mutual support shape the group’s social life.
