Who they are

The Lewo Eleng are an Indigenous community living on the island of Lembata in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province. They live in villages near volcanic slopes and farming valleys, keeping their own language and communal traditions alive.

Although most of the population professes historic Christianity, elements of ancestral beliefs remain part of everyday life, making it essential to strengthen the biblical foundations of their faith.
