Who they are
The Mahara are a traditional South Asian community, concentrated mainly in the Sylhet region. They preserve deep community ties and face historical challenges associated with social marginalization. Their cultural identity is entirely intertwined with the traditions and rituals of Hinduism, with no record of Christian communities or local gospel witness among them.
