People
Who they are
The Menominee are an Indigenous North American people originally from the Great Lakes region, particularly the forests of what is now Wisconsin. Historically known for harvesting wild rice and for their exemplary forest management, they keep alive their strong communal identity and deep connection to the ancestral land they have inhabited for centuries.
