Mexicans form one of the richest and most dynamic cultures in the Americas, born from the integration of ancient pre-Columbian civilizations and Spanish heritage. Present within their national homeland as well as in significant communities across North America and other parts of the world, they share a vibrant and warm identity.
Their culture shines in art, music, literature, and a cuisine declared intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The Spanish language serves as the primary linguistic bond, uniting populations from diverse backgrounds and regions around a strong national consciousness.
The historical journey of Mexico traces back to sophisticated societies such as the Maya and the Aztecs, who built monumental urban centers prior to Spanish colonization in the sixteenth century. This encounter set in motion a profound process of cultural, linguistic, and religious mestizaje that shaped the nation's core identity.
Following independence in the nineteenth century and a transformative revolutionary period in the early twentieth century, Mexican society consolidated its institutions and nurtured a profound appreciation for its roots, striking a balance between historical heritage and modern progress.

The extended family is the cornerstone of Mexican social life, serving as an essential network for emotional and practical support. Shared meals hold a place of honor in everyday routines, bringing relatives together to enjoy dishes centered on corn, beans, and traditional salsas during long conversations.
Most of the population resides in metropolitan areas and works in commerce, services, and manufacturing, while rural regions sustain their livelihoods through farming and livestock raising. Community festivities in public squares showcase a joyful, hospitable people deeply connected to their traditions.
Traditional Catholicism has profoundly shaped Mexican history and popular imagination, evident in civic-religious festivals, pilgrimages, and deep devotion to revered religious figures. Communal faith frequently incorporates local cultural elements that have been preserved through the centuries.
At the same time, recent decades have witnessed the steady growth of evangelical churches throughout various regions of the country. For an increasing number of people, personal faith in Jesus has become a living commitment that renews lives and transforms perspectives on family and society.
The entire Bible is widely available in Spanish in dozens of historical and modern translations, in print as well as on digital and audio platforms. The primary challenge is not gaining access to the sacred text, but rather encouraging regular reading and a deep understanding of the biblical message within daily family life.
A people only truly understands the gospel when they hear it in the language of their heart. See how far the translation has come.

In several communities, belonging to the predominant religious tradition is considered an inseparable part of social and civic identity. Leaving this heritage to follow Christ personally can bring misunderstanding, family friction, and communal isolation in smaller towns. In major urban centers, rising secularization and materialism pose additional obstacles, fostering indifference toward the truths of the gospel.
Many communities face severe consequences from cartel-related violence, corruption, and socioeconomic disparities. There is an urgent need for dignified employment opportunities to halt the forced departure of young people searching for a livelihood.
Spiritually, there is a crucial need for discipleship that moves beyond external rituals, equipping mature, ethical believers who bring grace, justice, and reconciliation to their communities.
Intercede for this people alongside Christians around the world.
