People
The Ndola live mainly in Taraba State, Nigeria, with smaller communities in Cameroon. In Nigeria, they live in Kurmi, Bali, Gashaka, Donga and Sardauna, in both mountainous areas and lowlands. In Cameroon, there are Ndoola speakers in Dodéo, in the Adamawa region, and north of Nkambe, in the Northwest. Ndoola and Nundoro are also used as names for the people. The Ndoola language is used by communities in both countries. Most Ndola in Taraba work in farming.

In Gidan Musa, a Ndola community in Taraba made up of families evicted from the forest, about 40 people shared access to a few small plots of land, while other families farmed land lent to them by neighbors. In 2010, many earned income from palm sap: almost all the palm wine sold in the region’s markets came from there. People used to gather to cook, eat, sing and dance together, but these gatherings became less frequent when there was no longer enough food to spare.
Most Ndola identify as Christians, both in Nigeria and in Cameroon. There are also Muslims and followers of traditional religions in both countries. In Nigeria, the first Christian missionaries reached the Ndola through Baissa, the seat of Kurmi local government. Evangelicals make up only a portion of those who identify as Christians.

In 2010, families in Gidan Musa faced a shortage of land to farm, malnutrition and a lack of schooling for their children. The community formed after evictions linked to the Ngel Nyaki Forest Reserve, without compensation. The Ndola have portions of the Bible in Ndoola, but do not yet have the New Testament.
