Who they are
The Omaguaca are an Indigenous people originally from the mountainous region of northwestern Argentina, especially the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Historically known for their fortified villages and terraced farming, they maintain a deep connection to the land and Andean traditions. Today they communicate in Spanish and seek to keep their communal identity alive amid the country’s social changes.
