Who they are
The Pangwala are a tribal community who inhabit the remote mountains of the Pangi Valley in northern India. Cut off by snow for long months of the year, they preserve their own language, Pangwali, and ancestral customs tied to the rhythm of the Himalayas. Their worldview combines Hindu traditions with local animist beliefs, maintaining a strong attachment to the land and to ancestors, in hard-to-reach valleys where few know the message of the gospel.
