Who they are
The Pangwala are a tribal community that inhabits the remote mountains of the Pangi Valley in northern India. Isolated by snow for long months each year, they preserve their own language, Pangwali, and ancestral customs tied to the rhythm of the Himalayas. Their worldview blends Hindu traditions with local animist beliefs, maintaining a strong attachment to the land and their ancestors, in valleys of difficult access where few have heard the gospel.
