Who they are
The Pashtun Zadran belong to the Zadran tribe, a branch of the Pashtun people, settled in the mountains of southeastern Afghanistan and neighboring areas of Pakistan. They follow the tribal code of Pashtunwali, which governs honor, hospitality, and conflict resolution. They live by raising livestock and small-scale subsistence farming in difficult mountainous terrain, with strong clan loyalty and a deeply rooted Muslim identity.
