Who they are
The Pokanga are an Indigenous people who inhabit the upper Rio Negro basin in the northwestern Brazilian Amazon. Belonging to the Tukano language family, they maintain a deep relationship with the forest and rivers, preserving ancestral traditions while the Christian faith has a strong presence in their communities.
