Who they are

The Catholics of Pondicherry, now called Puducherry, live in the former French colony in southern India, speak Tamil and inherited the French language and the Catholic Church from the period of French rule. The city has many old churches. In one of them, Our Lady of Angels, prayers are offered in French, Tamil and English. Many work in tourism, and rice, lentils and vegetables are also grown in the region.
